IBU2 sounds question.
Hi all
I have an IBU2 board and the sounds for my Heng Long Tiger 1 backed up on my laptop.
The question I had was, I was wondering how to get more sounds. For example I would like if possible the gun firing with the sound of the shell being ejected from the gun. Is there a source to find more sounds that are not already on the board?
Another question do ELMOD sounds work on an IBU2 or are they incompatible?

Hi Craig,
No there isn’t really a simple go to website and download sound as such. Most people tend to get sounds from you tube, other videos or video games and compile the sounds together through audio software. But in reality the shell ejecting case sound is a little made up or at least over emphasized for audio effect.
If you look in the Jagdpanther folder try kwk883 as that has the shell ejection sound afterwards.
Not certain about the elmod files I think the earlier ones were same format, but the fusion is different so maybe not.

Re: IBU2 sounds question.
I took my sounds from multiple sources. Videogames, clips en youtube, the original sounds that came with the board, and mixed them all with Audacity.
My RC tanks website, loads of free info for everybody:

Audacity is the tool that you need. Takes a little while to figure out how to use it, but there is a wealth of info on the web. Google is your friend.
Elmod sounds are interchangeable, you can download everything from their site. However, this only applies to the ones that are not marked 'NextGen', as those sounds are mastered by pro's and are coded so that they will only play back on an Elmod board. All of the others are standard 22mhz mono 8 bit, so can be used on an IBU.
You may need to play around with sound bite lengths etc to get them to run on an IBU and sound right, but it can be done. I have to confess that the first sound that I get rid of is the breech one, but then we all like different things.

Never laid eyes on a Turnigy, but I can take a look, if you can bring it along Sunday, I will try and remember my laptop, and see what I can do. If you have any documentation for the Turnigy then bring it with you for reference.

Most of the information is on the internet. The radio is designed for developers to create modify the firmware and features so as such providing a manual is irrelevant.
It's a Turnigy 9XR Pro Andy has and you need eepskye version of the programming software although you can do it all through the radio but a little slower. Andy has my number so ring me Sunday if you need help.

Re: IBU2 sounds question.
Might be a dumb question, but what does this radio do that a standard one doesn't? I have only ever used basic tx's with tanks. The programmable FlySky that I have allows me luxuries like throttle curve and multi-model storage, but its all very simple to use.
What needs to be done with a 9XR to make it work with a tank?

Re: IBU2 sounds question.
Not a dumb question Rob. Basically it’s a fully computerised radio so lots of configurations, personnelly for tanks I think it’s OTT and I use the more basic FlySky radio but for my trucks and excavator it’s great as I can put gear shift on a 3 position toggle switch etc. or align the driving styles of the models to something I more familiar with.
But with the IBU2 and the Turnery radio it’s possible to assign all those commands on the left stick (inertia, lights, smoke, engine) to the toggle switchs which is an advantage. Also where the IBU2 uses 50% left stick up down for elevation you can program the radio so the left stick 100% up down only transmits 50% therefore the stick only does elevation then add the main gun and machine to switches.
Andy’s radio is already setup with templates for the above features and working with his elefant so I’m not certain what fine tuning Andy wants.
