A Turret question

Post by Craigm1992 »

Hi

Thanks to Tankbear who helped out with my IBU2 problem. It's now up and running and working good :D

Now that I'm continuing on doing up my Heng Long Tiger 1 I saw on Welshdragon's ebay store this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401048925157? ... EBIDX%3AIT

I saw it has a gun barrel recoil and other things which make it a better turret than the supplied Heng Long one. What I was wondering was would this Taigen turret go right into the IBU2 board with no issues? I know the servo for the gun barrel might need plugged in. Would I need to do anything to get that working ok?

Paul, you're using the taigen turret for those three tanks? I must just have a bad one, then because the one on my Tiger with the Asp is giving me fits. It doesn't always fire, the BBs come out split (I assume because of the foolish design, the BB has a gap between the barrels to get past). I've been thinking about redesigning the barrel insert to make it longer, eliminating that gap between the barrel that goes into the airsoft unit and the barrel that runs to the muzzle. I now have two of those recoil units, and the one on the stock tank works fine, but the other has been nothing but trouble right from the start.

My mistake, I thought it was the new airsoft recoil turret. Guess that will teach me to read the flippin' title at the top of the ad!! :{ :{ :{

P.S. That little red faced guy does mean embarrassed, and not angry, right?

Does that Turret have a BB? I wouldn't be that bothered about the BB anyway, the recoiling gun barrel would be just fine. So it would be fine just to stick the new turret on a Heng Long chassis and ignore the BB feature?

The turret that's in the link above is IR and has no BB, but they also make a recoil turret that does have BBs.

Some guys kind of look down their noses at BBs, but I think they're a lot of fun and to me, anything that helps the hobby grow is A-OK.

You can use either turret on a Heng long tank, I think the attraction of this IR turret is the asiatam recoil unit, as opposed to the Heng Long.

Thanks for the reply. I don't mind the BB gun but I had a jam with the Heng Long supplied one. I heard the Heng Long BB pellets can cause jams so it might be that. I'll compare the BB and Infra red ones, I'm flexible :D

As long as the recoil is there. I'm assuming the gun length is correct as Heng Long shortened the barrel of the gun on the supplied turret?
