The Tiger stowage bin

Post by tiger205 »

hi guys
as most of you know i'm part way through a complete rebuild of my Tiger, and part of that rebuild is modifying the stowage bin, part of which is openable 'bin lids which rob(fv432) has kindly agree'd to make in brass along with the hinges, what i would like to know is, can anyone tell me what they used to keep in the stowage bins on the Tigers?, i ask 'cos when its finnished i would like to keep in the bin mini replica's of what ever the germans used to keep in the real thing

A rough guess would be the items the crew needed for general living, pots, pans, stove, blankets, Tents/canvass covers food ect ect I come to this conclusion because there wouldnt be much room in the tank itself for that sort of gear with all the stuff for fighting ect.
Wouldnt mind knowing if my surmisation is correct myself.

I would say MadFox is right on pictures of tigers you dont often see these things on them so they must have put them in storage bins. Anyone from the forces will tell you ,yoy keep your weapon at arms lenth so they would't put them in there.
