Stowage

I has question about stowage for my King Tiger...ok maybe a couple. The stuff strapped down so it wouldn't fall off I'm sure, how? I have some netting that looks like cargo netting would that work? Also any help with the kinds of stuff that would be thrown on the tank would be great!

Besides petrol and water in jerry cans, the tank crew would keep their personal gear inside. However, support troops, etc would have gear all over the rear.

In the case of King tigers, the stowage levels never really seemed to reach clampett proportions like many others.
StuGs are the Sherman of the Germans when it comes to stowage, tiger 1 seems to have a bit, mainly large drums & a little bit of other stuff, same as panthers.
No idea why but all the historic pictures seem to have similar theme

Crews would weld on hooks and rings so they could attach items to their tanks. They'd make use of items like old track ropes too. The biggest space on the King Tiger is the rear deck but they would've made careful effort to not cover the vents due to overheating and a build up of fumes.

Another issue is Germany didn't have the supplies the US carried into combat. They wouldn't have K rations piled high because they didn't exist and the ammo was stored inside, especially on heavies. Most German supplies were moved by horse drawn carts.

Thanks guys, all removed. Glad I didn't glue anything to the tank but rather used the netting and "rope" to tie the stuff down, just cut the ropes nets come off stowage all gone.

Once again thanks everyone didn't want my KT to look stupid.
