Lol I'm far from expert...I just don't think it's extended. It's a grainy photo but it still looks like an a2 engine deck to me, with the grill doors and filler caps on each side, you can't actually see the rear corner due to the stowage which I think is throwing the eye and you can't really make out the rear engine vents that the a4 had but a2 didn't...
remember...it's just a plastic tank... :/

Thing is ...when I look at the radio box in Can's photo...I can see the small covers on the top of it...like the ones in this photo

What's absent in Can's photo though...is the travel lock...reason I just guessed lol

PS...The firefly on the bottom...I just noticed...it's the short version :haha:

..there not radio boxes like was fitted to the Firefly, they're just additional stowage boxes. The firefly had an armoured box added to the turret rear which opened into the crew compartment to house the radios to make more room in the turret for the gun...

You are too modest Frankie....You are the True Guru of Shermanology ....I am just a peon in your presence ;) ....It is a grainy photo...if only the gunner's hatch was viewable...that would be a good indicator of what it is ;)

The more I look at Can's photo...the more it looks like the Shermans in the second photo...as no gunner's hatch can be seen...but again..that just a guess :haha:

..if the film is 1950, then they're probably using post war tanks. The Egyptians for instance were sold re-engined A4's with A2 engine decks which they used in Suez in '56...but they weren't around in ww2.. ;)
