The John Bull has special meaning for me...when I modeled the Pennsylvania RR...found the John Bull was the first to run on their tracks....Pennsy was just a concept then....So I can appreciate all aspects of that Engine

Or partially dressed...this is the version I'm most used too ;)

What's interesting is how the passenger cars looked like modified Cattle Carriers :haha:

Just had to push my eyes-springs back in their sockets 8O Those are exquisite models. Here's a link to a working steam model from Mamod; and it's radio controlled  ..I can already hear the zimmer frames clumping down to the local model shop!

and another link to steam models:

No, Steve..in my dreams, I'd like to claim that as my handiwork, but I just found it on the Net. If you google 'steam powered tank' you'll come across the original link. If I had the time, and the workshop, I'd love to attempt a project like that...
as I did once build a small working steam engine at school...eons ago. Then I moved into the Arts side of academic life. By the way, I saw the misplaced post that mentioned your health, and it's impact on your hobbies...and, I imagine the general quality of life. Well, I hope it improves for you very soon. This forum is also a good distraction when you're not feeling on top of the world, so to speak. I myself am trying to learn to walk again after a bad double ankle break before Christmas, and the limitations a lack of mobility imposes are really frustrating...and scary, sometimes....but not as scary as that stinking fish (in tins) you eat in Scandinavia! I went Iceland once, and got a whiff of it...once was enough, more could be fatal! :haha:
and here for Alpha and the general behoof:
