Recoil Trouble

Post by Jake79 »

Hi All

Having some difficulty trying to figure out what's wrong with the recoil on my Jagdpanther, I thought I'd fixed it, the gun fired it recoiled..then stuck again, the motor made terrible sound because it couldn't recoil any further, I dare not touch it or try take it apart again I don't want to break it...Could somebody please take a close up pic of their tam JP recoil system..thanks.

Here's a pic of mine, as you can see its jammed there and can't recoil

Hi Jake, might be the picture but looks like you recoil bracket is bent. If the recoil units grinding then something obstructing the barrel from moving. You really need to remove the recoil assembly, check the barrel isn't getting stuck in the Manley sleeve. Next check the recoil units working ok without load. Then make sure everything aligned .

 hi jake now its been a while since a had a tam but looking at your pic it seems the plastic part that holds the barrel to the recoil with the little screw on seems to go at an angle maybe the plastic tab goes under the metal arm if you get my drift and also fire the gun and hold the white switch on the green micro switch open the motor should go forward then back someone else might know more than me but its worth a shot.

Here's my Tamiya recoil unit (it's in a tiger) but you can see the plastic bracket connecting the gun to the unit is dead straight .
Hope it was of some help.

Think that's a fairly common issue with jagdpanzers in transit, both mine have suffered the same thing
