Looking for a cheap IR Battle System.

Post by Rad_Schuhart »

Hi everyone. Im planning to begin the IR Battle route, so far I have an airsoft Panzer III (with and Ibu2Pro), airsoft Panzer IV (with no electronics so far, maybe a IBU3 if it is cheap, lol), a Tamiya Sherman and a 88 Flak that I would like to convert to IR. (and I have no idea what electronics to put inside, but it would be enough for me if it just shoots)

I don´t want to rip off the airsof system of my tanks, so I would like to have both systems instaled, plugging and unpluging cables wont be a problem for me.

I also dont need to be universally battle compatible due that I pretend to play only with my sons, so, what do you recommend me to buy as cheap as possible?

Thanks!

Rad,

Sounds like you just needed the IR receive and emit since all your electronics are already IR capable other than the Tamiya Sherman. I think price wise you can't really beat the Hammerhead/Piranha from RCTA:

http://rctanksaustralia.com/shop/index. ... cts_id=219

IR emit and receive all in one unit, you just need to plug it in when you want to shoot electrons rather than BBs.

For the 88, RCTA used to have a unit that is design to be stationary in a battle field (i.e. Anti-gun/PanzerFaust) but I don't see it on their website anymore. Maybe another member has a unit for sale ?

Edit: This is it........

There's also the vampire hidden battle unit from tankbear at rctank electronics. £21 shipped with emitter.

Forgot about that one. No IR emitter but that's easy to embed.

Hi guys, thanks for your help. That Hammerhead/Piranha and that Vampire Unit are exactly what I need for my tanks, and are way cheaper than a tamiya battle unit.

About the Flak, im afraid that is not what I was looking for. My idea is to make something like this:

I'd like to be able to control when I want to shoot and where I want to shoot... But anyway If my battle terrain grows I will consider to adding one of that Panzerfausts units, it looks like a fun add!

I've just fitted the vampire to my IBU2/Panzer III

Works perfect. As you can imagine, you just have to be mindful where you put the receivers and leds so they are hidden from sight but still function fairly.

That's great. Can you show us a couple of pics about where you installed it?

I see......... Why don't you just fit another IBU to it, put it on a base to hide all the electronics, and use the turret rotation for the gun rotation ? You can even fit a servo for the recoil like this:
