Jake
You know Jake...this is probably the first "Official" 1/24th I've bought....I did get a Leo in a junk box from a shop that was closing...I was able to make it run again...but it didn't have the proper controller....I used a normal ABC controller from the larger HLs....it was old though...didn't look anything like the newer ABC controllers.....main thing it made the tank work ;)
So I never knew the circuits had a "Boost" provision :O ....Which I find cool and saddening at the same time lol....This new model has all the new plug ins...no recoil..so only one set of wires going to the turret ...so super easy removal  ...and easy merge to 2.4 :D

Thing is...if I did go to 2.4....It would mean I loose a lot of that Speed..and the boost ....which I like on these modern tanks...Think the way this one runs now...I could run Drag Races with Max :haha: :haha:

Choices Choices.........Might just have to flip a coin ;)

Long Story Short....Yeh... I'm supposed to be working on my Firefly....but first wave of providence....My donor tank for my Ferdinand (Porsche Tiger) arrived...second wave of providence....as I was getting the parts for that tank sorted ...a scrap piece of plastic that I had used I don't know when..fell in front of me...It was perfectly triangulated :wtf: ...Not big enough to use for any part of this build....I stared at it for awhile...then held it to the side of the turret...DAMN if it was a perfect fit :O .....Since I love short cuts....I searched out the scrap tank that the piece had come from
EUREKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....there was still quite a bit left
So this is where I am after about 40 hrs of work....and with a little luck...should be able to lock everything up with the salvaged plastic :D

CAVIAT EMPTOR GENTS

The reason I liked going this route instead of using plastcard is because "structurally" it's a lot stronger....the scrap Plastic is from an old Heng Long and is very thick
Add to that it is already molded with a "V'" makes it that much stronger
What can I say...there is nothing like a Strong tank :D

While working on this Model....I always consider how / what the designer might be thinking....I find it interesting on this modification that though there are some similarities to the Leo...the design is much more refined ....there isn't much that could be shot at the slanted surfaces without it providing sufficient protection to the crew inside...also there is a advantage to the "Bladed" surfaces....not only do they lessen the drag...but might also contribute to the fuel efficiency...this tank is pretty fast already....if the JGSDF had gone with this design...this tank may have outperformed the Type 10...but that's just speculative ;)
Spoiler: show

With that said...both the Type 90 and 10 in comparison to what is coming out from other countries
makes me think of the Sherman...how it is smaller and faster than many opponents ,,,but in the world of modern warfare
has an equalized advantage with standardized firepower
