Hi Everybody, apologies for the late introduction, my new tank has totally consumed my life and using a forum for the first time has not been straightforward.
After being refused an Action Man tank 46 years ago I have at long last ticked off another item on my 'Bucket List' and bought a beast of a tank.
Much research and reading about metal upgrades and changing nearly everything on board at great expense and without any experience led me to buying the Taigen Tiger 1 with all the bits on it. This was only 3 weeks ago and already I understand the need to tweak things and personalise bits so perhaps I've made a mistake by buying a 'finished' tank.
Within one week of owning the Tiger I joined the Grantham Tank Club and was made very welcome by a really friendly bunch of people and I'm looking forward to returning next month.
I have many questions and I'm going to need a lot of advice so I hope you don't mind me bothering you all. By the way, your photos are fantastic and I have admiration for you all.
Good to be in 'your gang' and thank you for accepting me.
Kind Regards,
John

I can beat that - I am 68 and just started. I only intended to make one tank, but my second is winging its way from Germany as I type. HEALTH WARNING. This hobby is exceedingly addictive.

Hi Pebs, also at 68 years young I also wanted to just dabble, but IT GETS YOU! It's like biscuits, you can't have just one, anyway they get lonely. Hope you have either a good bank balance or an understanding bank manager and definitely an understanding spouse.
Happy tanking.
Alwyn

Hello Pebs, we all have young brains!! That's why we want to do things like build an RC tank. I definitely have more patience now (57) than 30 years ago. I also have more dinero $$$ now that children are out of college and out of the house! Have to admit tanking is easier on the body than other hobbies too! Have fun, O'Neal
