Overall that Sherman still looks to be in great condition....if you can still get the internal parts...it would be a nice restoration project :D

Nothing like old school tech to get the juices flowing....just to see it run again would suffice ...it's all so totally alien in a way ;)

Try to keep it as original as possible. It's surely a collector's item.It even appears as if you have Bakelite bits and rubberised cable (late of domestic wiring too) in there; the sort of materials used in military, such as WW2 radios, pilot's helmets (used to have one..) and other assorted 40s and 40s domestic products. Too often history's tracks and traces are obliterated in the quest for modernity...and as as someone being consigned to antiquity, I have a certain empathy with outmoded (but beautifully made products).. :haha: Someone out there will probably have a suitable battery and appropriate adaptor...the net is so wide....

Thank you 43rd and Alpha I am intending to keep it as original as I can and when I get it going will pose a video so keep your fingers crossed. Yes I must admit I look at it and think it has character and I am looking forward to getting it going again.

Those gearboxes even though they are old...actually look better than the newer clutched boxes(obsolete) that Tamiya used to use...I have a set in an old KT and a lot of it is plastic  ....I would think the one concern would be the clutch plates...those tend to get sticky or brittle with age
