Best Gearbox's

Guys most of my tanks are HENGLONG Pro Versions but will all be on IBU2 boards soon,what gearboxes are best for scale speed? I think standard are 3:1 so would a set of 5:1 Gearboxs allow it to run at more of a scale speed,rather than an RC buggy like they do from standard,thanks in advance ANDY

With the IBU2 (both base and pro) you can adjust the forward speed and reverse speed. By default forward is 100% (full power) and reverse 70% of forward speed. So it’s possible to adjust the motor power which effects the speed, this reduces the power so slower but not increase torque which is the benefit of a lower ratio gearbox slower and more torque.

I run a lot of my tanks with standard ratio gearboxes upgraded speed 400 motors and then adjust the “true scale speed” setting. But this isn’t suitable for all driving conditions ie grass where you need the extra torque from low ratio gearboxes.

He’s a video I did a bit back, not the description says it’s a Pro only feature it’s now in the Base versions as well.

Thanks Ian I think I'll get some decant motors and gearbox and battery's then then should be all good,will sort out second order lol next week cheers andy
