Oh yes the postage is as dear as the item, but as I said quality product...

I sent some Autumn leaves for you to play with too.

I hate the amount to post, It's a 1 oz packet, but that's what they charge.

As a consumer, I'm always put off by high shipping, I'm getting used to Amazon Prime and ordering things from China where the postage is government subsidized. I've ordered products shipped from Hong Kong that were cheaper than postage to send a pack of leaves in my own state.

If you guys in the UK like the product, and you meet as a club or socially, I would have no issue if you wanted multiple orders combined and sent as a group. If enough guys are ordering, I'll pay the post to get it across the Pond.


The leaves are out of stock for now. The production is a multi step, tedious process so it'll be a week or two, depending on drying times, etc.

My leaves arrived today, for those of you counting that was 4 days from ordering tI'll they arrived! Fastest shipping ever! Now to figure out if I want to use Woodland Scenics branches or real ones.

Also got a small pack of "fall" leaves....WOW they look fantastic! I would HIGHLY recommend either of the styles of leaves as they look great! We'll worth the small price he asks.

I'm glad you like them. Since I haven't put them on the website, only on eBay, I don't get to hear what modelers thinkonce they get 'em.

The branch sample I did was a simple wire armature that I just primed and dipped in paint and pigments. Since I was doing the animation, I didn''t really have time to really pose the leaves. You can bend and curl them to get them to sit the way you want. They're sealed with acrylic, so using a PVA glue will hold them nice and tight.

PVA glue like Elmers? That'll hold them tight enough?

There are stronger PVAs than Elmers, but it'll certainly work.

The good thing about PVA is it's flexible, so it has strong sheer strength. I use it for all my PE work for the most part. My original Tammy Tiger used a lot of Aber brass that stayed in place with PVA until I converted it from an Early to an Initial.

Besides, the weight of the leaf is negligible, I would have no problem with using Elmers unless you are planning on getting it wet (or not overspraying a clear), than I'd pick a more waterproof option.

Ok, what kind of glue do you like?

Also would it be ok to leave the branches on when I take it out to run in the park?

The leaves themselves are waterproof, although I would go dunking them in an aquarium.

It's only the glue that I would be concerned with. I think Elmers turns white when it gets wet.

There are commercial PVAs like Gator Glue, I use acrylic binder like you'd find in an art store with the acrylic paints. It's basically the paint without pigment and the stuff is amazing for mud or snow effects.

This is 1/35, but the mud effects were just dry pigment in binder:

Future would probably do great holding the leaves and would resist getting wet.

Elmer's will dissolve when it gets wet.

This is really great seeing you active here, Jeff. There are a lot of guys here that are very interested in what you're doing and we really support guys starting businesses like yours. So do you have a website or something? I'm still looking for Tank Commanders and I'm interested in anything you do with the servo TC if you make it work in a Taigen, as well as a ton of other stuff.
