Got some other Panzer IV stuff today. Mostly just small parts and one bigger "part" from Asiatam.

Since I upgraded the hull on my Pz IV, I had a complete lowerhull, just standing there, with a faulty MFU that couldnt turn the turret to the left, only to the right. Dominique had sent me a new one free of charge, since it became faulty after only a few hours of operation, but I have a habit of not throwing anything out! Not even faulty equipment.

I thought this MFU would be perfect for a Stug, since it dont have a turret to turn and have thought about putting it in a Stug, for quite some time. Now I can finally use both my extra Pz IV hull and the faulty MFU, to make a fully functioning Stug IV! :D

I need to work a bit on the front hull, to use the standard metal motors in the hull, or just go all in, and order me some low gearboxes, to make it fit completely flush. I will make a new thread, once I really start work on this, so here is just a few pictures of the mock-up assembly.
Package from Dominique, should be here in a day or two....need to kill some time ;)

OK...Now I'm lost 8O ....you either got another chassis and are going to fabricate a Stug IV ....or you are going to alternate upper Hulls...OR...you are going to retire the old PIV...and make a total conversion

Well... I am going to make a Stug IV, but I am not doing anything to the Pz IV.

To begin, I had a Taigen Pz IV, all plastic.
I replaced the plastic lower hull, for the Asiatam metal lower hull.

This left me with a complete lower hull in plastic, so now I got a Stug IV upper hull from Asiatam :)

So, in the end, I will have a Stug IV and a Pz IV ;)

Got a package from Dominique today!!!

HL Suspension and some tracks for the Stug :D

Already did the suspension swap on one of the metal arms and... WOW!!! Its just so much better! Its actually doing what a suspension is supposed to do now! Will upload some pictures when I am done with the swap.
In the meantime...anybody need an extra road wheel or two??
Only option for getting the suspension, was getting an entire lower hull, or just the arms...with wheels... :P

It was worth it though right Arnie ;) Having working suspension is a good reward for the minimal expense you had...and those wheels can always go to another project if you get into doing some kit bashing or scratch building :D
Terrific News

Congrats on the working suspension

Thank you :D

Did one side and took a few pictures, to see the difference between the springs.
The bottom is the Taigen "springs" in case anyonw was wondering :P

And then did a test comparing the two types of suspension. My Stug have the standard Taigen suspension, with no mods done to it.

All in all, I love my new suspension and will do the same mod to the Stug :)
