SPRUE TIPS & TRICKS

SPRUE TRICK #286
For you 1/35th guys....Suspending a moveable machine gun so it stays that way :D

Stretched sprue....flared and sanded end ..glued to inner hull...Allows a spring action so gun can be moved up down side to side

This is a great starter topic. And that particular use is simply brilliant.

SPRUE TRICK # 15
Sprue used to extend some Hatch hinges....now they are operable :D

Done by controlling the stretch to get the correct diameter...chucking in a drill ...some fine sanding till fit is even and smooth...then create a cap by heating and pressing on a flat surface...cut to length and glued in place :haha:

Thanks pale...I have a hunch many of these tricks are already known...I've just managed to take sprue use to another level when building various scaled models back in the day ;)
This 1/35th scale Chaffee by Italeri being the great kit it is...has allowed the showcasing of many of the techniques...sharing some of them is my way of thanking the many who have inspired me on this board :D

PS... Many of the techniques can be translated to 1/16th....as a matter of fact any scale of model...Imagination is part of the process ;)
