Can't beat a good British tank - love the camo.

Would love to see a Tamiya Cromwell!

Hiya Ed, Sorry to spoil the party but this is not a Brit Sherman, despite a new paint job.
I am not out to diss anyones modeling and am not wanting to cause offence, but merly point out things that you may not be aware of.
I enjoy researching my tanks as much as the building, conversion and painting process.

At the end of the day, you should be pleased with your tank because you have put your mark on it and are honouring your grandad. I for one would love to create the best possible conversion to a British Sherman for my grandad and im afraid that will require a bit more effort as the M4A3 has a unique engine deck that needs to be changed along with smaller front hatches to represent either a Sherman 1 or a Sherman 111.

The most common of the British Shermans was the Sherman 111 (M4A2)

In fact there is no 'out of the box' sherman that can be used as a true British Sherman apart from The Mato M4A1 which was used by the British (Sherman 11A 76mm) in Italy and even this needs quite a bit of work to the turret & transmission housing.

The Heng Long Sherman is an M4A3 which was was never used in British service although was trialed and was refered to as the Sherman 1V.
The Tamiya M4 can be used to make a Sherman 1 providing to swap the lower hull for the Mato one as the Tamiya use the later HVSS suspension that was never used in British service during WW2.

Anyway, Good luck with completing your tank the way YOU want to.

Cheers

Tim

Looks great! I've always liked the tan colors on tanks. Your Sherman pulls it off!
