Tank Fairy

Since this is the age of the wish list, and the season beset by maudlin TV christmas fantasises, I wonder what members here would ask the Tank Fairy to supply, if ideal tank wishes could be granted; and presupposing the existence of such an entity (no intended ambiguity in the name..n.b.,). For me, it would be a 1/16 or 1/8th scale Mark V (male with six-pounder) tank from WW1 bedecked with battered camo and rusty rivets; complete with belching smoker, gnashing gear sounds, festooned in bits of (diorama) barbed wire and loads of fake Flanders mud. Of course, all the guns would have to move and fire, and it should be capable of breaking down regularly; resulting in a torrent of rich and colourful language (some of which should appear to come from its interior. Maybe stored on an SD card!)
Failing that, I'd like either a Comet or Matilda 2 in 1/16th, or 1/8th with all the bells, whistles, accessories (metal and plastic) and options currently available for the Tiger 1, or Königstiger...for hours of seemingly endless upgrades.
Perhaps the Tank Fairy/Faerie (if you're a celt), could have a word in the ear of Santa Heng Long, or Father Taigen, and make this wish come true.....

Just been to Ludwig's site..(ta for the link), and a rough estimate- taking in all the listed components would be around 920 euros (incl. 19% mehrwertsteuer..aka VAT). That's before motors, bespoke electronics and now..yes.. it's really beginning to hurt, around
17 euros postage to the UK. Ouch!. But what a seductive beaut!! That translates to 'an arm and a leg', but for someone already with knackered pedal extremity (ich) who cares? I suspect that piggy bank is going to get a severe battering soon.

You can do it on the cheap....... I did it with a HL T34 lower with Leo II road wheels and some bits and pieces from all over and it will be well under 500 euro

Tell me more, Michael... I like cheap, ah, but not nasty. I note the basic kit pans out at a mere 155 euros; but expect savings could be had given a smidgin of expert knowledge on which parts are roughly interchangeable from other models, or can at least which lend themselves to modification as you suggest (e.g. Panther and Tiger parts almost intersect..). I'll check your topic ref out from the annals..Roy.

Just had a quick peek, and I'm not sure how I missed that thread, but was probably abroad. That Comet looks like a 'real' tank. Love it. I like tanks (Matilda, Mk v WW1 model etc.,) that show their industrial heritage: function over form, and slightly crude (T34 is a good example). or rough round the edges, like old cast iron bridges and ships with rivets. Love Brunel's stuff.
