Blowing Fuses

Post by ONeal »

My Tiger is blowing the lil 2 amp fuse. Last week I was doing a trial run and it blew while tank was moving and I fired the cannon.
I checked all the wiring and put a switch between battery and IBU2. Today it blew the 2nd one a minute after crank up. the 3rd before it actually cranked. Any thoughts, recommendations? I'm out of fuses.

Not an IBU2 user, but I rigged up a fuse setup using the same glass blown fuse on the power line in to the Clark board. I find that I need a minimum of a 3A fuse for normal use, and sometimes up to 5A. I don't know what the power rating is for IBU2, but I think it is the same 20A rated for the motors so it would be similar.

Hi Neal, according to my IBU2 manual, the 2A fuse is for the servo circuits? do you have recoil/elevation on a servo?

If not maybe somethings shorting the servo pins on the board?

Hope this helps
You can never have too many tanks...... :D

If your powering the TARR's and step up from the receiver that is why, your pulling too much power.

With the IBU2 the 2A fuse protects the IBU2 and servo outputs and receiver all which run at 5v or 3.3v. The larger fuse protects the outgoing motor circuits.

OK My thinking was run it off recvr and save some battery power using the step up. Sooo.... just wire the tarrs to the battery with a switch? Neal

Yeah connect them to battery rather than receiver.
