How to tighten tracks?

Post by SteelBird »

Hi,

The tracks of my tank are too loose but if I cut off one piece of tracks they become too tight. Is there any good solution?

Good evening,
The lower hull on your Pantiger is for all intensive purposes, a Tiger1 lower hull. Any of the neat aftermarket idler adjusters out there for Tigers will work on your tank. Henntec is one excellent brand that comes readily to mind. ;o)

Hi Wolf,

Thank you for your reply. I'm a newbie to RC tanks. Do you have a photo of the idler adjuster or do you have link to those sites. My only access to rc tank parts is to ask somebody to buy parts for me from China.

Wow...that's way loose...pulling a couple of links would also help...Guido's tensioner will add more strength

Thanks for the link. That's great! I'll ask my friend in China to find and buy it for me.

I'd tried to remove a link but became too tight so I put it back. a tensioner should solve the problem.

Do you have a photo of it sitting on the tracks?

I had the same issue with my Pershing. After battling with keeping the tracks on, I just removed a link. They were very tight at first but soon loosed up as I drove it.

This is what they looked like with just one extra link.

When I took a link out, I had to compress the suspension to make them fit. After running for a while, they loosened up enough to not compress the suspension.

Here's a photo of it sitting on its tracks. However, I can't remember well in this photo I had removed one link from each track or not. I'll take a new photo later on.
