HL KV-2

Post by Woz »

Here's my finished KV-2. It's not 100% accurate but I'm happy as I managed to build it over the course of four weekends.

Keep your eye out for the Trumpeter Russian tankers. They're not selling well and a lot of places are doing clearance sales just to get them off the shelves. Squadron just had this guy for about $5 US (about 3 pounds).

I picked up a couple and sent this one to Erik to go with his T-34.

Very nice Woz, I haven't tried the hairspray method myself, looks like it turned out well here. I'll have to give it a go, I'm sure I remember reading some time ago, the cheaper the hairspray the better the effect as cheaper ones have less chemicals to interact with the paint..anyways top job nice work..

Hi Woz.
an excellent piece of workmanship.
Did you get all the turret stuff working, I did one some time ago and because of the difference in the electrics I could not get
it to fire , not enough spaces left on the receiver.
handy to know as I am finishing off another kv1, and would like to add the large turret.
Cheers and have a good xmas.
Wads.

Certainly looks like it's been through the wars,Woz. Nice work. But Max, doesn't your Russkie tank commander look just a little camp..with his arms akimbo, and that wayward hairdresser look? I thought Russian tank crews had crew cuts.
As for the Tokarev pistol he's probably wearing; I have pics of the real thing after firing it in September (also my of my kid's WW2 collection) I'll post them soon
