I recall seeing pics of this years ago when I was into model railways, I was astonished then, but I am completely amazed now. The tech that they must be using to control this little lot is incredible.

One place I went to when over there was http://www.gondwana-das-praehistorium.de/index.php/en/ , equally staggering. No barriers or anything, you are walking through a complete prehistoric forest with full size dinosaurs moving all around you, that react to your movements? You have got to love the German ability to create these masterpieces.

Many thanks, Paul for the pics (Trusty iPhone again?). They brought back fond memories for me of Hamboich (how the locals say in Plattdeutsch). Hummel Hummel, sound familiar? I have close friends living in Harburg, a southern district of Hamburg, I saw the exhibition in 2003, I think, but it was quite limited then.Even so the OCD germanic eye for detail, scale, and proportionality was astounding. I also enjoyed eating 'Labscause" ('Lobscouse' in Liverpool, a stew beloved of sailors and the origin of 'scouser") a regional stew-like dish. Hamburg and Liverpool
had old links long before the mop-top,pre-fab Four descended upon them..oh yeah, oh yeah. I also saw some nice models down on the Reeperbahn; but I swear I didnae want to play with them! Sadly, the iBone didn't exist then...
