My 1/15th, 1/16th & 1/18th Armoury

Post by Dandare01 »

Right here you go chaps I've dusted of what is left of this part of my AFV collection :-

Image
Image

My 2 x 1/18th 251's both static

Image

This is my Challyard or Challenger IV, a very special comission, the lengths we go to wind somebody up but I luv it to much to change it  ;D

Image

This is my daughters Sherman is a 1974 remote control clutch control tamiya.

Image

This was my son's Bulldog which he abused, a real shame as Rivet did a cracking paint job making a toy into a model, electronics have been removed and put in a 1/25th Academy Jadgpanther, the gear box will be removed and used in my daughters Sherman and the rest will be kitty fodder.

Image

Now this was bought for me, but my daughter sorta nicks it and she is 6, 7 next week and she runs it with a vengance on all surface types and all thats happend is the track pins loosen so track splits and Idler split, but nowt that couldn't be repaired in the field with super glue and snipe nose pliers. Because of this tanks track record I will be more than happy to take a Stug III of you MilitaryMight at the Feb do (if thats ok)

Image

These next 3 are my favours this is a Bandai Stug IV converted to RC and painted by Rivetcounter it's still one of the best examples I have seen of this model.

Image

This is my Porsche King Tiger I bought this 3yrs ago from Dave Pengelly, but I saw it a couple of years previous at the Yeovilton Model Shows and pestered him to sell it to me, eventually he gave in.

Image

Last but not least, this was the second tank I bought way back in 2001

So there you have it, if anyone is interested I can post up my 1/6th Collection at some point
All tanked up

Ok as requested this next lot have all moved on from me, but I can assure they all went to further the hobby and not to be frittered away on silly thinks like food, electric, gas, mortgage or kids  ;)

Image

This was my very first tank a Tamiya Tiger 1e, bought from tankzone, now a little history if you used to deal with Tankzone many moons ago when Kin was running Tankzone and working full time you will have seen this model on his website as his 1/16th Icon, strange but true. As you can imagine this tank served me well for 4yrs and was pretty worn out, but its heart (DMD & MF unit) are now donor into my 1/6th Panther, the chassis and turret are in Hull rebuild with Hen Long electronics as Bovingtons 131 (well it will be once finished).

Image

I think that was my favour 1/16th runner, it was traded for a then just on the market Tamiya Leopard 2A6 which was a bargin, it went to Wales I did se it a while ago on eBay, its the saddest sale/trade in my mind because I know the rest went to good homes and this one I don't. If I had the chance to buy back any one of these this Sherman woluld be it  :'(

Image

Another Tamiya this was another Rivetcounter paint job (cheers Mark) which was sold to Dave Clough in Blackpool, where it still resides.

Image

My Sherman Firefly, a Chris Bidds build, superb again sold to Dave in Blackpool, and still there.

Image

This stock Sherman was near complete when I bought I finished it and ran it, and sold it to Rivetcounter, I'm not sure if he still has it?

Image

Another Chris Bidds model, scratch conversion of the Trumpeter T34 into the SU85

Image

This was my first big scale a 1/8th T90 good memories this I traded for the next model, a fantastic runner this firstly went North to Cumbria, then to the South East of England where I believe it still resides.

Image

The T90 was traded for this scratch build M3 halftrack, beautifull this went down a storm at the Warwickshire Model Expo, while towing a 105mm artillary piece, this was then sold to help pay for the next model.

Image

This was my first brand new 1/6th AFV full option it used to tow a PAK40 and was crew'd with 8 action figures, this was exchanged for a current project.

Image

This was a very quick deal and spend very little time with me, but it now lives in Hull going through a RC conversion, whether it get finish or now I can't say I may fomulate a rescue deal to get it back at some point, you never know.

Thats all that I can find pictures of there was 1/16th T34, 1/15th Bandai Tiger 1, Panzer IV and a 1/6th Stuart.

Right I shall start to compile the current 1/6th collection, this could take a while  ;D

some nice rides you got there(had there LOL)
that T90 isnt the one thats been on e-bay a couple of times as i'm sure it's a similar if not the same tank ;)

I remember the days when i first saw a 1/6 tiger at wroughton straight of the plane and being sold by some dodgy looking russian geezer for £250  wish i had a couple of grand then LOL

thanks for showing you going to R/C them 250's they would be a nice addition running around the battle field ;) ;)

Kind regards Rob

We had a look at them a few years ago and decided it wasn't worth the expense and time to convert

Right here we go my current 1/6th collection I havn't included all my figures as there is 70+ predominately WWII German, a couple of modern German and a 5 modern Brit and a couple of modern American.

Image

This is one of the latest additions I thought old Adolf needed a ride  :D

Image

This is my Kubelwagon, a genuine Mark II Tank, and Number 1 of 3 if memory serves me Mark?

Image

Kettenkrad this was bought cheap in bits, not a kit but a RC project from somebody else gone horribly wrong, but rebuild by the Humberside Panzerwerks.

Image

This 21st Century Dodge Command Car will be once finish a capture one.

Image

Another Rivetcounter paint job PAK 40 (21st Century)

Image

In this picture is my other PAK40 painted by the Humberside Panzerwerks, along with the next two PAK36's

Image

Image

Image

This is my baby late Panther G, which has the Tamiya DMD/MF fitted various detail, and as a matter if interest it used to belong to Peter Shaw a well known name in 1/6th world, and it was the first Mark 1 Panther (a little history there) it has the new chain drive Rivetcounter has done quite a lot of work on this too.

Image

The latest project lots to do on it, I have decided once funds come in from the sale of my 1/6th Tiger 1 (did I forget to mention that one) I will opt to upgrade to chain drive, new tracks and the new drive sprocket, hopefully once details and painted (ambush colours I think) it should be around 2nd quarter 2009  ;D

I think thats about it, incase you are wondering what we do with all those figures heres an clue.

Guys the 250's are actually 251 the problem was space for motors and batteries don't forget as it's 18 scale it's about 20mm shorter than 1/16 this also affects all other dimensions height width.

Yes Robert that was the first Kubel I built there should be a number and date under the chassis
