Leopard 2A6 rear lights
Guys any one know which light does what on the rear cluster?
I know HL had the taillight where the reflector is, the Tamiya has 2 fibre optics going to the light cluster and a further fibre optic to the small round bit other side of the reflector but the Tamiya manual doesn’t detail what colour it all lights up.
Any help appreciated.

Re: Leopard 2A6 rear lights
Turn indicator light (yellow) outer most square. The middle two sure are red (Break lights). The inner circle should be red reflector with no lights.
Hope this helps.

this is from the tamiya manaul

It's showing a light going to the item other side of the reflector. Reverse light maybe?

That is how it should look. The order is yellow (outermost) red, red (inner most) The circle is a red reflector no lights. This info is from a real tank reference.Tankbear wrote:this is from the tamiya manaul

Re: Leopard 2A6 rear lights
No rush I still need to paint it before I get to the lights.

Re: Leopard 2A6 rear lights
Here is the picture from my own personal collection. Picture is for discussion purpose only.
I don't think there is a lens to show light on this thing. It might be a reverse light but not sure. I will let you know for sure once my friend response to my email. He serves in a Leopard as a tank commander and a very good modeller. So If their is a question to ask about a Leopard tank then he is my go to guy.
This is the RIGHT indicator, brake , park light. You can see from the diagram you have illustrated above. It looks like there is no opaque lens there. We will know for sure later and will update you Tankbear.

Re: Leopard 2A6 rear lights
In NATO member countries when vehicles are moving in convoy in lights out conditions, the driver when switching off the external lights switches on the convoy lights, as well as unless ordered otherwise the forward infra red lights,
The position and size of the small rear light, the one that is free of the main light cluster would seem to be therefor the convoy light.
Soft skinned vehicles would have the convoy lamp mounted above a White painted disc.

Re: Leopard 2A6 rear lights
I thought the convey light went lower down in the middle where the white cross is. Hang on I try a picture.

Re: Leopard 2A6 rear lights
If there is a white cross on the back of the Tank then yes IAN that would be where the convoy lamp would be found,
My excuse is that none of the pictures shown so far showed a picture of the back that included a white cross.
