Herman,
Good afternoon, that's some beautiful paint work! The StuG looks appropriately trashed from long service.
regards,
Painless

Thanks lads, trashed it is!
Once I get home it's on with tracks, weathering and a few details, the stowage bundle and schurzen.
I've still got 2 weeks to go, so maybe the tank fairy will pop in home and help a brother out EH ??!!!

Nah Its not drilling mud !!
Mig pigment, PVA, potting mix and dark pastels sanded into a powder.
Got a bit to go yet before this can be signed off, but its closer by the day.

A bit more taken care of.
Fitted the schurzen soild to the mounts. Last thing I want to be doing is fart-assing around placing the sections back on each time I use it, or losing them.
Once they set, went on with the pigment compound to mud them up.
Put a bit on the red oxide insides as well but mainly to make up for the damn masking tape that tore patches of primer off leaving a stark white :-< :-<
I might put a semi gloss clear over the mud to give it a wet look, but not until I test that theory out first.
Also had a bit of an idea to get "kill rings" on the barrel.
This battle hardened STuG has had a new barrel fitted which is standard enamel grey as they were delivered. I used small rubber bands left over from one of the wifes nieces braces long since removed to mask off the rings.
Black patch on the barrel with the bands placed & adjusted with a blade.
A thin wash of flat white & it looks ok.
Easier than painting rings, but not perfect. Just right for the crew wanting to show off the success they had which was stolen off them when the new barrel was fitted.!

The braces rubber band thing was a good idea. And it worked. I got the white on and cut the bands off. They look alright if a bit stark.

As for the victa lawn mower, that reminds me of Daz & Baz the cane toad video on u tube.
One of the first things I got shown when I moved here.
Google it up boys, fricken hilarious !!!!

I'm at work, it was 42 C and ground heat 1 degree short of setting fire sprinklers off in a shopping centre (68C) reflected !

I miss the regular tank time and even the wife remarks how odd it is not to have me over in the corner getting my tank on !

Herman G-DAY, I think that's how it goes?
I had the pleasure to serve alongside the Australian Armed forces some years ago ( not all of them )in the Indonesion confrontation so I am probably out of touch with the latest updates in Australian culture, but the "Daz & Baz " film was it a documentary?
It Brought my Lady into the room asking whether I was all right having heard me choking and gasping! :haha: :haha:
Thanks for that my hero, Brilliant.
shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
