
I too like to keep to a maximum cross-country speed for my tanks. Somewhere between 12-15mph scale speed is about right IMO and at that speed they look right and it gives them a certain 'gravitas'.
I think zooming about everywhere at scale road-speeds+ really makes the models look very toy-like. I also put servo-slows on the throttle channel in my tanks so they can't suddenly go from forward into reverse and vice-versa. Makes them drive much more realistically (although you have to be a bit more careful how you drive them!).
