ok
i will see what we can do for you first try the crystals tx in handset rx in tank make sure they are seated well and the 2 pins make contact push the start key on the handset if still no joy make sure that your battery is full if you use the heng long charger then it will take most of the day to charger it
if then no joy it may be the rec board faulty or the rx18 unit let me know how it goes

Mick I know this is blindingly obvious, but you are switching it on in the right order arn't you?
Transmitter on first then switch on the TANK!
shaun.

There is an outside chance that if it is a 27mhz one, rather than a 2.4ghz one, that the cable linking the receiver to the RX18 has become detached. The only way to find out is to take the upper hull off.
To do this:
Remove the caps on the sprockets
Remove the sprockets
Remove the tracks
Remove the screws behind the tracks
Remove the screws underneath the lower hull
Yes, it's a lot of screws, but when re-assembling don't bother with the ones behind the tracks, they aren't needed and will make future maintenance a lot easier.
You will see the two boards inside, they should be connected by the three wire cable.
If they are connected, then double check that the battery is fully charged. If you have a multimeter it should come out as 8v+. Anything around 6v and the RX18 will not fire up as it has low voltage detection.
Sometimes the button on the tx needs wiggling around while it is held down, a frequent problem due to build quality. Set the volume midway so that you know it isn't on zero, as sometimes its possible to start the tank and shut it off again if you can't hear it start.
If the lights still just flash then it is probably a duff pcb in the RX18, so it's a case of getting a replacement and simply swapping them out.

That's all great advice from Wibb, but there's one thing I respectfully disagree with. The screws behind the tracks DO serve a purpose, and that is to keep the sides from sagging down over time. If you don't want to deal with taking the tracks off and removing those screws every time you open the tank it's a very good idea to add a brace or two across the flanges to keep them from sagging. Imex tanks with lift off tops usually come with such a brace across the front of the lower hull, but I like to add a second brace about midway down the hull.
I'll post a photo if I can ever get this piece of junk computer to work properly. It's taken 15 minutes just to get this posted. I might just go buy a new computer.
