A LOT of that depends on where you are. If you're in the UK there are many guys there that can better advise you than I, but if you're in the states I say call Erik at Imex and tell him Gary sent you. He'll hook you up a good price on two, so don't pay any attention to the website prices, call Erik. Check out the tanks here for airsoft

And here for IR

The scratch and dent tanks can be a very good deal, too.

Mick Hi, Dave Forgebear gets my vote as well and you can find him on E-BAY or
theallertons@fsmail.net
but you could also try
http://www.welshdragonmodels.com
where Steve will give you a top class service,
What I will say is please avoid those dealers on the "BLACKLIST" they will certainly ruin your Christmas.

I've heard good things about Forgebear even on this side of the Atlantic and I've actually dealt with Welshdragon and had good results. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but international shipping rates make all my favorite vendors unrealistic for guys in the UK. Of course, that doesn't stop me from buying from Hannant's. :)

Any idea what kind of tanks you want? IR so the boy can battle with Opa? Maybe one German and one Allied? A tiger and a T-34, maybe? The Taigen tanks will do that, and they're not bad for starters. Do you plan to make it a hobby or will it just be for when the grandson comes over on holidays? And like Tom asked, what's your budget? I doubt you want to spend 700 pounds each on Tamiya and then build and paint them, have you looked at many tanks yet? Here's a couple of Taigens, and I do believe they're compatible with Heng Long, but not Tamiya.

If you are after tough Tanks I think you will be hard pressed to find any that I would describe as TOUGH! What I would do is buy a couple of Tiger 1s from "HOWES" of Kidlington, Oxfordshire, they will be HENG LONG and are about as cheap as you can get new which makes breaking them less painful OR search E-BAY but be careful.
