For a rail loading must all over the prescribed width protruding parts be dismantled, also the side plates at the front fenders. Therefore, these were bolted at the front fenders. I have this feature also implemented at this way. The pictures say it all I guess...

The side panels also get a small cover plate, here the finished right side...

…the bolts still have to be shortened.

The same was done at the other side…

Finally were the rivets of the two small side plates inserted into the front fender. Pictures...

…and the final state.

…and as ever – will be continued.

Hotte,
It's beautiful and a testament to what can be done with the 1/16 scale tanks. If it were mine, I would be afraid to run it outdoors to lose even an iota of that detail.

Painless

Hello Mr. Bix and Painless,

thanks for your reply; in my opinion are etched parts very touchy, that's why I've decided to build my own side- and front fenders. And believe me, these parts are stable enough...

Hotte,
When the time comes to rebuild my Porsche King Tiger, it would be wonderful if you were available to contract out for a set of these solid fenders and track guards. Your work is completely inspirational.

Hello Painless,

that I believe gladly. But the big distance between our places of residence makes it a bit difficult; Colorado and Berlin are far away from each other.
How you can see in the report I've transferred the dimensions from the complete side fender sheet to the upper hull. For a good fitting accuracy I would need your upper and lower hull here in my basement. And it will take time. At the moment I've still a second construction zone; a Tamiya Gepard.
