Lol :)

I kid you not, there is a heck of a lot of wiring in the turret!

Why they didn't put the battery in the hull I don't know.

Painted the armour panels last night for fitting this morning. Just realised I didn't fit the bloody grab rails so fitting them now then some more paint.
Periscopes etc have had the glass tinted with Tamiya clear blue on the backs.

This is coming along very nicely, it just goes to show how good a 2A6 looks in desert camo.

Coming along nicely Ad Lav!

On your first post I can see you are trying to do the Leo2A6 Can. You have seen my build in 72nd minus the Barracuda nettings. The first tank that serves in Afghanistan had no barracuda netting but eventually received it.

There are several modifications done to this tank by the Canadians. No German Leos had this upgrades. Here are the things needs to be done to bring it up to the Leopard 2A6 CAN that you are building.

1.Paint should remain in NATO 3 tone. It will look brown\tan due to overly dust.
2.Barracuda nettings or remained 3 Tone NATO colour if you wanted to do the earlier tanks that was first deployed.
3.Belly Armour
4.Front Glacis armour
5.Weapon Box in front of commanders copula.
6.ECM Box behind Commanders copula
7.Hull Slat armours
8.Turret Slat armours
9. Specific T-mounts for the left and right arials.

But if you just wanted a desert colour for a what if build then I think its fine. This is a very nice clean build.

Thanks Rob - enjoyed building despite it being somewhat more challenging than previous builds!

DNAR - thanks for the info. Not sure how far I am going to take this in terms of mods. It's an expensive kit to fiddle with and mess up :)

I will get her finished and all painted then decide. Scalawag found me some 1:16 slat armour from Germany but it's £100 lol

Yep agree, Tamiya to be surgically cut for this project is to expensive. HL would be great as the price is not that bad. £100 for slats? Is it metal?
