Looking around for some foliage type stuff to try on tanks..used actual cedar branches which would stay green a long time
but nothing like that available right now..any sources for some good scale trees/bushes/branches? A lot of the train stuff is too small and not realistic. Thanks!

Hi tao,
For the logs on the side of my tanks I buy a cedar boarder roll ,you can pick these up from garden centres or if you're in the UK you can get them in pound stretcher or similar shops, they come in a couple of meter lengths and about 8 to 12 inch wide but you can cut to suit and because it's natural they vary in diameter so they look realistic and too scale,

Shrubbery, or Clump Foliage is very expensive from Woodland Scenic's, and the same effect can be made for pennies.
1. Buy a cheap car sponge (30p from B&Q)
2. Slice and Dice, and add to a blender with a cup of water (to stop it getting too hot)
3. Once it has a nice consistency, add to a bucket with PVA glue and green acrylic paint (The Works £2)
4. Mix up and place in tinfoil on a radiator to dry.
5. All the clump foliage a man could wish for.
I have used this at every scale from 1/1200 though to 1/16.
With a little playing, you can get it identical to the expensive stuff, and you can choose an colour you wish.
I also used the same technique, but with black, to create black smoke. This is used as a smoke marker for 1/100 games.

Crafter store that carry fake and dried foliage are a place to look for greens, some of the arraignments have leaves that are small enough to be used in 1/16 scale.

Any sources for 1:35 and 1:16 logs? Thinking for unditching logs & fascine bundles rather than camo or fire wood!
