Silly question - HL turret rotation unit

Post by atcttge »

My memory has failed me, and so I ask:

Where do I plug the turret rotation unit to the HL MFU? The MFU in question is the 2nd generation (or 3rd?) 2.4Ghz found on the M1A2. I'm transferring it to my Leo2 but now I couldn't make the turret traverse because I don't know where to plug the mechanism to the board.

Help please? Thanks.

It normally goes to the PCB which has the 8 way socket on then its a twisted 8 way plug lead between the top and the MFU.

You can connect it directly to pin 7/8 on the MFU's 8 pin output if you are not using a patch board.

OK. There are three wires coming out of the turret. I thought those three are connected to the small board. These three wires control the Airsoft, gun elevation, and coax MG LED. Obviously, one of those will have to go to the MFU if I am to connect the traverse mechanism to the small board. So... What should I connect to the MFU board?

atc, traverse does not go on the three contact patch board. ALPHA and Tankbear is talking about the 8 pin connector board, NOT the three contact patch board.

One set of wires does go to your MFU...it would control the firing...the rest to the board on the body :D

So... The wires for the airsoft unit go to the MFU?

Sort of ATC....the easiest way to locate the ones that go to the MFU is trace the wire from the contact point switch on the back of the firing unit...that's the wire that controls the firing sound and recoil ;) That's the one that goes to the mfu...the rest goes to the board on the hull
