OCD Builds.... Research Tanks in 1/35th 8O

LOL...3 hours in Kiaser...one side of the track set done ...With that said though...those Fruimodel metal tracks are not bad...very good looking and pretty easy to assemble...the one thing I do especially appreciate is in the instructions they say you have to drill the holes...that scared me at first..because the first thought was ...there goes a bunch of drills ....but it seems that was just a warning...as 99% of the holes were clean..there is just one bum hole in each track ...which cleaned out fast and easy
The tracks move very well better than some Taigen tracks that I have on my 1/16s
It inspires me to attempt to RC this model...

Almost finished with the second one Kiaser...will take a photo of it then for ya Not much wire left lol...they give you just enough ...will see if there is any left for you

I've considered using those for 1/35 RC. There is a jig you can get to build sections using dressmaker pins. Looking forward to seeing yours in place.

They are really nice Painless...the casting is top notch...but if you are looking to use them on your Sherman..they have nice plastic ones that are half the price...the seller of those is located in Taiwan..many varieties even duckbills
You don't need a jig for this brand ...I saw someone in Australia listing it...all you need is patience ...a lot of it lol...also Dressmaker pins are too thick...you might weaken the track link if you over drill ...so I wouldn't recommend risking it ...the wire supplied with the kit was sufficient

Plus the tools that I used ..I tried to drape the tracks to show the flexibility ...that part is for Painless....Sorry Kiaser...I forgot to take what leftover wire there was from the box...didn't want to mess up the already messed up arrangement ...so maybe when the tank is finished I'll hang it on that lol
and one thing I cannot forget to include...what my eyes look like

..... your endurance is outstanding those tracks look fantastic ALPHA how long has it taken to do this

HMMMMMMMMMMM....When the model arrived and I took the tracks out of the box...it took 8 hrs to do one side...took a break...then another 4hrs to do another 50 links....I was trying to time what it took to finish up...think it was another 4...So in total about 16 hrs give or take a few lol
Think it was worth it though...better than building the kit with the provided plastic glue on tracks...I think the best thing was that I didn't have to wait for the tracks to come from China or Poland ...US seller...it came in four days

Do I not ever learn ......this came in the mail yesterday...figure it might help in my current Stug build..According to the mark underneath...it is a DML kit...the builder did a not bad job ...it wasn't painted...so you knew the guy had some skill as there were no real traces of glue


As soon as I took it from it's delivery box...I almost destroyed it ....The builder had used so much glue...it was damn near impossible to take apart...Why take it apart you might ask...well the gun wasn't seated right...and I needed to fix it (OCD )...Tugged on the gun...it ripped right out lol....then I found that was a big mistake...as I couldn't put it back in...next step was to "attempt" to split the hull...bad move...parts went flying all over the place lol...almost dumped the tank right there and then ...( I was tired from a long day at a rehab hospital tending to a friend so frustration set in faster than fast lol).... Anyway...I thought hey....if I can find all the parts that went Awol...this still could be a nice tank lol....Stepped away for a few...then went to search ...found all the parts...split the hull (after breaking off a bunch of bogies )...now it sits in a Zip Lock in pieces
Suffice to say...I think this might take priority over the Carro Amato now ...as I don't want to loose any parts

Have to have a good sense of Humor when getting a model built by someone else ....Even when it's pretty well done like the Stug is....Mostly because it really isn't all that great of a kit to begin with....A lot of minor surgery on this one...I can see where the guy had problems ,,,too many little parts where little parts aren't really necessary ...makes me glad I didn't have to build it from kit form
Will have some "before" paint photos up soon...it'll be different from the others lol...all I can say is...it's a Stug...with a personality all it's own

Lucky for me most of the work was done...all I had to do was fix the mistakes and the broken gun mount
The one thing I didn't like about the way the guy built this kit was that he glued the wheels
