Here we go. How I made the buildings. Hope this is of some help.

1...the first 2 photos are of a ceiling tiles that I use, both front and then back.

2..next is a shot of the of the tile with the doors and windows marked ready for cutting out

3.. next a photo of the tiles being cut with a kitchen knife.
(very dangerous, don't let the wife know that you are using her knife)

4..After the doors and windows are cut out then I "scribe" in the details of the stone or brick work. I use a ball point pen for that

5.. next comes the ends of the building (if any)

6.. and the molded on detail, chimney, window sills, etc

7.. because I was in a hurry to get it done before lunch, i just sprayed cheep flat black on it to see how it would work  not bad but it could be better

The rubble is made from the left over material from the doors and window openings and any thing else that is lying around

Pure genius, that looks brilliant. It is also light and transportable. I am off to B&Q!

like rob said oztruck, its "pure genius", a brilliant way of making the battlefield props, but i'm not off to B&Q, i'm off to wickes, they're cheaper ;D ;D ;D

ps andy i would imagine if you give it a good couple of coats of varnish or the like, it will waterproof it, but i dont think oztruck has that problem, he's from australia(i think)

similar to the green stuff florists use but wont fall apart ;)

Oh Lordy...we will be queing up at Screwfix Direct tomorrow! I went to B & Q today, but apart from huge sheets of polystyrene looking stuff, I couldn't see anything like this. I will try Wickes and see what they have got, and if that bloke from Grand Designs turns up I will stick an IR sensor on his head and use him for target practice.
