Hi Paul, I need to spend a bit of time with you at TankMod to check out the 9XR.

I have a Spektrum DX7s that i use with my Armortek Panther.
This obviously gives me 7 channels, but with 5 controlling the tank & Benedini, I only have 2 left for fun stuff.

I have the lights hooked up to a Turnigy Remote switch, which only leaves 1 spare which id like to operate a servo for the hull mg and turn the smoker on/off but dont have enough.
Ive also got a Pololu Animatroncs board to animate the tank commander and dont know if i need a channel for that too.

Anyway, the 9XR looks like a good system that might give me the additional capacity and be more tank friendly too.

Hope to chat on Saturday.

Ok. This discussion has me interested. The Turnigy 9XR is available at one of the local RC stores and at a nice price (vs getting one online plus shipping and customs), so I am looking to get that one at the end of the month to replace the radio that came with the IBU2 Pro package I ordered (that one will serve as backup until I get another IBU2 / IBU2 Pro for the Leo2 sometime next year).

atc, if you are in the market for a 9XR for tank only, I would recommend buying from RCTA instead as Kevin will flash the latest E9XR firmware for you that is tank friendly and with all the tank menus on the radio. I was on 9X and has switched to 9XR both as my primary and back-up/secondary. Also then you can fix your servo creep with what I have posted on your other thread.

Problem with buying online is the shipping fee and customs duties that I will have to pay making the transmitter 50% to 70% more expensive vs. getting it locally from an RC shop. Also, I had a bit of an issue with customs when I got my gearbox from TankArmy as they could not believe it is for a toy tank. I can imagine they'd ask me more questions about the transmitter, and might even slap higher taxes if I tell them it is for remote control (for them, remote control = drone, and there are now strict rules on operating drones here, so that might further create issues importing such things). Hell, a guy imported a remote survey device (basically a number of clickers that transmitted signals to a receiver that gathered the votes - not for land surveying), which is a very basic electronic device, and he had to secure special permission from customs AND the .gov agency on telecommunications for his order to be released! All because people in customs etc are ignorant of such things and they WILL try to screw you and take as much money as possible from you under the guise of "public service" and such.

Here are the Turnigy 9XR stuff that I can get locally (the shop is just an hour's drive away from home):

http://www.lowdoghobby.net/products/det ... NIGY%209XR

http://www.lowdoghobby.net/products/det ... atible%29,

http://www.lowdoghobby.net/products/det ... 20%28V2%29

http://www.lowdoghobby.net/products/det ... ter%20Pack

There's one more item that scalawag told me, the AVR or something like that, which I have no choice but to order online. The module above I hope is ok, otherwise I'll also order online the module that scalawag recommended.

Yay! I'll be contacting the RC shop this week. Hopefully by end of the month, I'll have the Turnigy 9XR and associated equipment. I'll try to order the USBAVR ASAP so I can get it by early November as well. :)

I have a problem with the settings and switch er9x Ibu Pro 2, I explained the station set to partner scallawag, but switches that combine the actions aque match value of 100 shot gun, also trigger the firing of the cannon and the switch Can, someone else happens?

Cheers

I'm sorry I have not been able to explain, Thank you for your attention.

CAN = cannon fire switch
XNG = lights switch on / off
SND = Smoke switch on / off
...

all ok, but also

XNG = cannon fire 8O
SND = cannon fire 8O

how to avoid this?

Hi
I see we have experts here. Can you help me with the following,please..
My taigen king tiger has a Clark tk24 and I am using a Turnigy 9xr with tanker 9x.
The Turnigy is using the standard 6 channel template that comes with tanker9x
So
CH1 100 STR
CH 2 100 MTR
Etc
Everything is fine except the slightest touch of steering causes a sharp turn. I want more gradual steering control with sharp turn only at maximum stick movement.
I can get into the mixing menu ok but have no idea about mixes.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Bob
