You mean did they put a rocket launcher on it or something like that? Not as far as I know, it's always been a gun tank/MBT. There are different variants but the major differences are mostly stuff like reactive armor. I have a 99A I got in trade so I had to make my own external fuel tanks. Got any photos of yours? Here's a video of mine with the 360 motors that gave it very close to scale top speed (80 kph).

Isn't that a Pinocchio? If so, I think yes, T-72, and I've been thinking about building one of these one day, if anyone produces a decent T-72 lower hull. I saw some video about this system and it has some seriously cool possibilities for RC. Have to be very careful, though. There's a fine line between very cool and bad idea. Everything would have to be simulated, no real fire. Could be a real fun challenge. I was thinking spring launched baby powder bombs of some kind.

ZTZ-99 is basically a Chinese copy of the T-72 only supposedly better armoured and with different engine layout (hence, longer than a T-72). Contains the same carousel autoloader inside - and so just as vulnerable to explosive penetrations as your typical T-72s.

I am unsure if the Chinese have a version of the Russian TOS-1 (as seen in MichaelC's post) based on the ZTZ-99 hull.

The MBT-3000 and similar ZTZ-99G are basically newer versions of the ZTZ-99.

You might want to look for the recent PLA parade that happened a few months ago and see wot ZTZ-99 variants were shown there. IIRC seeing an ARV based on the ZTZ-99 chassis.

There are a few variants, I recall seeing them when I did my conversion a few years back. The original HL is a 98 I think, it was the added armour that became the 99 series. HL rectified this with an add on kit, and then brought out a newer upgraded version with it already on. Only snag was that the upgrade was inaccurate, so I did my own.

As for ARV's, this any good?
