Kiaser wrote:Well this is interesting two more 8O ............... :haha: :haha: two very interesting kits  the detail will be good to see Alpha

Two words silly putty :D
Don't do too much detail on these things....but what is interesting is that one ...the HA GO is a collaborative deal between Tamiya and FineMolds...it includes PE and white metal parts ...Guess that accounts for the price difference...The Tamiya Chi Ha is already noticeably easier than my previous FineMold which would be the Chi Nu...and is already half way done ;)

Yeah ...I really looking forward to the paint ...not sure I'll use Silly putty....probably some blue tape should be fine

Had some personal tasks to tend to yesterday before starting on the builds again....Suffice to say...One down one to go lol...The Tamiya's are turning out to be a big disappointment...think they did some mold alterations...and their instructions stink :haha: ...Spent 3 hours sorting out the sprockets on the Chi Ha....I don't remember them being that bad before...but like the Lee/Grant...had a lot of play...and would probably torque backwards once the tracks where on...What bothered me was...after I had solved that problem....I looked at the instruction sheet one more time...as I saw two pieces on the sprue ...according to the instructions those two pieces weren't to be used and were blacked out....but upon observation...would have probably solved the sprocket problem a lot faster than what I had to do  ....anyway...another terrible kit from a once great model producer ...and what bothered me a little more...they left the fender wells open on this one too :/

I managed to acquire RC 1/25 chieftain I hope this is not a bad move 8O
Eating will make you Merry :D ...Having a cool tank to work on is the Topping on the cake :D

Chieftain is a nice tank...One of my all time favorites....If it were in Gup I would have got one lol...but have to stay focused :haha:

Kiaser wrote:Phew thanks for the positive feed back :{ I wish that I was merry eating to much of the good things :D has turned me into a brick for the last day in recovery mode :haha: :haha: :haha
:OOPS...Made a mistake lol....my favorite British tank is the Centurion not the Chieftan lol....Tamiya used to produce a 1/24th scale Centurion..not sure if it's powered anymore...Still ...It's not in GUP.....so that one isn't a priority ;)

Keen to watch your talent but soon 8O you will have to return to the dark side 1:16 :D
Yup ....got interesting news though...found another Viable candidate to attempt in 1/16th :D ...the second smaller Ha Go has a really deep bucket..and a rather tall upper....I might have a try at that one too after the Chi Nu ;)

If they did...I'm still going with Heng Long...right now not liking the quality of the Tamiya product...seems what I am experiencing with the 1/35th scale product is what I have similarly been hearing about that Type 10 they just released....the casting of the Chi ha was bad...looks like they had to cut some new molds for it which left a lot of flash...and the Ha Go...even though it's a collaborated effort is even worse...most of the time spent so far is cleaning off flash...almost every piece has some ...With that said though...I really like the Ha Go...especially since there's a good chance it can be translated to 1/16th :D

Apologies for the slow progress....Cleaning off the flash has brought the Ha Go to a crawl...a test of patience for sure...cleaned off a tiny hatch handle no bigger than a fennel seed...was in the process of applying glue...and the sucker went flying off somewhere :lolno: ...searched for about an hour before giving up... used another off the sprue...tried reviewing the instructions to see if there is enough left...Dang!!! Tamiya should give some extra .. those tiny parts
almost always disappear...if Italere can do it ...why can't they????????????? :wtf:

Kiaser wrote:all is good working on js2 I know the feeling 8O ......... :haha: :haha: so the small bits on 1/35 would be twice as bad , and those handles are a pain :{ .
I think the JS2 might be the last tank they really paid attention to...These 1/35th models they are putting out now...some are new...some aren't but must have had mold revisions ....the Ha Go is surprisingly bad...not something I would expect from Tamiya or FineMolds ...though I wouldn't know which company is fully responsible for the casting of the plastic...because the kit came with photo etch as well as white metal detail parts that are marked FineMolds...those are terrific

Yup...something I just can't get used to lol....those tiny bits :lolno:
