Tiger I photo question

These exhausts mounts look like from a Kingtiger? Do you think it's an actual photo..don't recall seeing this?

Well it is a bit more than that, It is a command Tank,
The extra aerial on the Turret and the spare aerial holder across the back plate shows that, BUT I am unsure how authentic the picture is.
The rear fenders look more like something made by HENG LONG as do what one can see of the front fender?
Also is that the moulded spare aerial holder on the nearside rear flank? If it is then for a number of reasons it would be wrong, It wasn't moulded and it was mounted higher and was to be found on the other side of the engine bay!!!
Then again it is a very grainy picture so it may well be my poor eyesight and it could be the real thing.

That is one of the first Befehlstigers, built in 1942. It does indeed have a second antenna tube on the left side. The exhaust shields are not missing; they are simply not invented yet. The mudguards look normal to me.

That's the same unit as the S33 Tiger which is available on the Tammy decal sheet, and happens to be my favorite RC tank. It has the Asp board and the 9XR Pro TX. I was just readin' about 3 number ID codes but I don't remember command markings. So what do you know? Was S on all the tanks in the unit? I have decals for the S24 and I was thinking of getting creative and doing three or four tanks from this same unit, all with that two color camo, Olivgrun and Dunkelgelb. I just like that scheme and the little gremlin. Would the 0 in the middle indicate command? Think this photo is from Kursk? I googled S01 Tiger Tank and got some good stuff, but I'm hungry for more.

Great thread! Learned quite a bit. Good for crew info and finally sorted out the S and 8 thing for me. Now I have to do a cut out MM!

I also picked up a lot at the bunker 3030 thread I saw here.

Like I said, I'm going to get creative. VERY creative. The rivet counters are going to HATE me. But, the plan is to match a few more tanks to the S33, using the same colors, camo patterns and marking style. I'm going to totally butcher the fact that this unit was really almost all Tigers and add different kinds of tanks wearing the numbers of what used to be Tiger tanks. For example, the S24 was originally a Tiger One, but my Jagdtiger will be wearing that number at my house. I may also do a PzIV and a Panther G in the same colors and markings. Like I said, the rivet counters will hate my guts, but they don't pay for my paint so I just don't know what to tell 'em.

This weekend the new airsoft turret should get closer to wearing the new S33 decal set. Now I can finally do something about my mistake the first time, making the Olivgrun lines much too wide.
