what is correct colour to paint german fuel drums ?

what is correct colour to paint german fuel drums ?

Hi chaps , im adding some stowage to one of my tiger 1 ,what is the correct colour the germans painted their fuel drums in ww2, help please want to get it right lol. Thank you in anticipation.

Hey Stu..This is what I was able to dig up..hope it helps!


German 200l fuel barrels were mostly galvanised steel which were not painted.

As far as I am aware the only barrels that were painted were non-galvanised steel examples produced in 1944 and 1945 which exist in dark yellow and dark green.
early war = grey
late war = dark yellow
