Re: Not sure anymore.
Terry,
I do hear you. Just let this downwards bump pass and you will be fine. You go to parks with your armor and the kids love it. You do things with your tanks that not many of us do, water, etc. You will be fine. ;o) Go pick up that 251 and think on it. That's going to be really sweet when complete.
regards,
Painless

Re: Not sure anymore.
Thanks Painless. The 251 us exactly what I'm going to order parts for. I'm thinking an IBU2 and a PAK 40 gun to fit on the roof. Time to make the wife mad at me again!
BTW Painless, you mean you guys don't take yours in water?

Hi,
Just noticed this thread. Although the Display Team do not do Battle Days as such, well not in the normal way, there is quite an active Tank section.

Re: Not sure anymore.
Jack if all else fails build a "Tiger I Tunisian early" although I warn you to do your research properly before you start the build,
It really is quite different from the later Tiger 1 (EARLY).
I have pulled mine apart too often to be funny just to get it right,
just finished redoing the rear fenders and that was after building them with a Voyager PE rear fender kit which is now sitting in the parts box awaiting my next Tiger 1 build.
The deeper you research the more you realise how wrong HENG LONG/TAIGEN/TORRO and yes even TAMIYA have got their products,
And then there is the study of track and Tow cables which are fitted in a different way depending it seems on the mood of the commander of the particular Abteilung and silly but important details like where along the flanks do the Balkankreutz go,
It can be as interesting or as boring as you make it and remember we like to share the highs as well as the lows of each others builds, so talk to us PLEEESSE.

I think I am about to upset someone

Re: Not sure anymore.
Terry,
I have only modified two tanks with switches replaced in easier to reach locations. ( that made them a lot safer to drive in water ) Both of them, Shermans. ;o) Most of my running around is in my yard and the neighborhood. That said, the local tank group, FRAG, sends out feelers every now and then. They have a great set up and I need to go run there with Pale Painter some day.

Re: Not sure anymore.
hi guys, I am near Milton Keynes.
Edpanzer, you are only 1 hour away from me in Peterborough. PM me if you want to meetup some time.
I also need to stop playing with my Armortek Panther and get up to one of the Grantham meets later this year.
It would be great to meet up with some of you guys if you are going to TankMod on October 10th.
Cheers
Tim

Re: Not sure anymore.
Could try something a little different in the RC world, like cars, trucks, scalers/crawlers, FPV etc. I got pretty bored with tanks earlier in the year so got some other RCs.jackalope wrote:As much as I enjoy building these R/C tanks I'm kind of at a cross roads with them, there us no one around me to battle with and just walking around the park or neighborhood is getting quite boring. Not sure this is a worth while hobby as the tanks are getting more and more expensive and just running them around by myself is getting old.
Not sure if I should just hang it up.
Here's my latest try at doing something daft: A 5th scale brushless!
Now I'm about good to finish the tank I started back in March.
