Super Pershing

If anyone can give me the Sherman hatch dimensions I would be grateful.

Outer diameter.
Inner diameter.
Height.

Thanks Eddy, I can make one now. You are a star.

Did the front mudguards, the lips on the storage boxes, and started modifying the rear sprockets. I figured that if I put a disc behind the teeth, and then fill the holes with milliput I might end up with something that matches the originals, though I won't know until they are sanded down and painted.

Can I ask you one more favour, the barrel diameter and length?

Hi Rob Dave forgebear has a superpershing which is very nice , contact him and get him to fire off some photos to you .It very well detailed. Could save you ages researching.

P.S. if you can make the engine hatches open to put switches in Daves is a Tamiya and its a pig to get to the switches in the drivers hatch you have to turn the turret to the back to open them.

The Super Pershing's barrel was 73 calibers long. In 1/16 that's 41cm roughly.

Yep, I saw Dave's. Got some pics off a forum member together with links, so I think I know where I am going now. I can stick with the HL switch position, seeing as it is already there, so that is an easy one to solve.

The Tiger is an 88mm and the outside diameter is about 10mm, so I am assuming that the L73 barrel is around the same, this guy used a KT barrel. Lots of good pics here too if anyone needs them.

Sprockets turned out ok, Very cheap to do, and no one will be able to see them if it is running around a battlefield.

Sprockets are easy to update with plastic card

This word 'easy' that you use, is this in the same context as it 'easy' to put a man on Mars?

Nice work on making them, but plasticard and the hardened nylon that HL use have one distinct quality between them, the HL ones won't be smooth cylinders after two hours of running round a muddy field. That said I have no idea how you managed to make those sprocket teeth so perfectly...and don't tell me that you did it with an old kitchen knife and a pair of false teeth, cos I am not going to believe you!
