Another view of the retainer chain. I don't think it looks too bad but a nice aftermarket chain would improve its appearance.

HI,PZ, You brush the metal primer, your not trying to lay down a heavy layer, all you are doing is providing the primer a surface to bind to.
Yes after putting a few drops of glue on the pipes slide the sheathing over the pipe.
ABER make a PE set of pipes but I reckon they come under the title "HARD WORK" and I don't think I have ever seen any actually built up.

I have seen the Aber PE pipes & yes, they look like a nightmare to assemble! I think these pipes are only appropriate for the real early DAK & Tunisia Tigers but David would know for sure. About the primer...when you brush it on does it leave brush marks or does it level itself out?

Yeah, Evil- Bay or Flea-Bay.... Will do plus Ill ask the other guys on RCTW where they got their chains from. I believe I saw a guy named Tom who was doing a HL Panther rebuild with some small scale chain that looked really nice. Yeah, I have decided that the craft store stuff has to go!

Made a rookie mistake & forgot to install the lifting lugs for the exhaust housing! The parts on the tree are very small & installation would be tedious not to mention the cleanup of the parts. Saw a guy named Tom on the HL Builds Forum where he used a nail with the right head size & diameter to replicate this lug. When I locate a suitable sized nail from the hardware store, I will cut it down & install on the tank or I can pretend that it does not exist or hope that no one notices!

The whole rear panel was altered over the Tiger 1s time in service,
In March 1943 the air cleaner drums were changed from small 4 pots to become two large units,
In October 1943 the Feifal air cleaner system was removed totally, at the same time the rear tool box was removed,
In May 1943 the engine was changed to a Maybach HL230 and around this time the one piece starting handle which was fitted along the bottom of the rear panel was changed for a two piece and was stowed on the deck of the hull body close to the radio aeriel,
January 1944 saw a new 20 tonne jack fitted on the back panel,
The snow shovel on the front panel was taken off in the same month and in February 1944 the road wheels were changed from rubber rimmed to overall steel and at the same time the external tools were moved.
The metal primer should not show up when applied and left to dry

Because I love PE!!! I made mine up out of pe which entailed using 1mm threaded stud and 1mm nuts and washers but at least if I need to remove the exhaust I only have to unbolt it rather than mess with "Debonder" and a blade.
Now all I need is a seeing eye dog.

Posting pictures of the turret & hatches. Love the detail that Tamiya put into these areas. My hatches may remain close due to my incompetence & poor figure painting skills but this area would look great with a Tiger crew!
