1st large scale tank: Tamiya 1/16 Tiger I

After much difficulty & due to my incompetence with technology, I can now proceed with this build thread. Construction of my kit to this point has been stress free for the most part. The first thing I wanted to add to my kit was the effect of rolled textured steel. I have never attempted to do this before but after watching a video on Youtube where Mr. Surfacer 1000 is being used to make cast texture, I felt confident enough to try. I used a medium soft brush & only dipped just the tip of the bristles into a bottle of Mr. Surfacer 1000. I stippled the product on working rather quickly. After it dried, I sanded it down with 400 & 600 grade sandpaper using a generous amount of water & strong light to observe my work. The surface (from photos I have observed from the Bovington Tiger) should be rather smooth with divots, pocket marks & pits in the surface of the steel. I used a total of 2 coats of Mr. Surfacer 1000 on my model to replicate this effect. Tamiya duplicated this effect into the turret so MS 1000 was not needed here. Im pleased with the results. I will post more pictures showing this effect.
