thats interesting what youve done on the 'box mounting plate stew', ive not done anything to my hull other than quickly trial fit the boxes, and noticed the holes dont line up, and the only other thing ive done is to "notch" out the front tow shackle holders, as per the late Tiger spec'. i will do something along the lines of what youve done when i come to fit my 'boxes

rob you have been busy, some interesting stuff youre doing there, are you opening the vision slit?, ive done this and its quite easy, and it makes such a difference to the look of the tank. how come youve cut the round thing off the engine cover?. ive opened my engine cover. keep the updates coming

when i did the rear engine lids had to cut off the screw posts 
and the new chassis uses these for the quick release so ive made an ally bracket in the chassis and the round thing will be used as a screw down to hold the lid in position
the front uses the asiatam fixing bracket

Do you think the gearbox holes were off because you were using the low-profile boxes?  Or, would they have been off even with the stock metal boxes?

some of the mounting holes are out of line, even for stock gearboxes, so I just fitted the gear boxes and noted which holes the screws went into properly took it all out including the mounting plate temporary re-fitted the boxes and drilled thought the holes in the mounting plate with an undersized drill and then drilled out the holes in the gearboxes to the proper size so that when assembled in the tank the screws that protrude through the mounting plate miss the torsion bars. this is the reason the holes don't line up the screws have to miss the torsion bars because there is naff all space under the mounting plate

Hmm...I would have preferred that the holes lined up.  Should have been something that they accounted for when it was designed.  What does "naff" mean?  I'm assuming "not much".

rob have you got some pic's of the bracket under neath the engine cover?, i will need to do something similar, as i cut my stand off's off aswell,

just thought you guys would like to know, that although all the gearbox mounting holes didnt line up, (2 did) when i went to fit them to the asiatam chassis i noticed a hole on the mounting plate under the 'box which was tapped with a thread doing nothing, so i marked the position of the hole on the 'box and drilled the 'box, i then fitted the 'boxes to the chassis and everything lines up ok, ive put a pic' up to show you the 'boxes fitted, its not to clear, but atleast it shows the 'boxes fit ok with all three screws, as you can see i'm using asiatam 3.1 'boxes, it might be more of a problem if like rob youre using the low profile 'boxes
