Ok it has the RX-18 so it's ok. I think I will get it just so I've got a tank to run at the club :) I'll keep you all updated. And if you have anymore info or tips just let me know thanks

Good for you. Most important is to have fun. There will be times of frustration, but all can be solved so ask all the questions you need too.

Will, the dealer (HOBBY POWER) is actually HOWES of Kidlington in Oxfordshire, They have a very good name in our hobby for cheap Tanks although they are more a toy shop than a hobby store,
I urge you to read the advertisement closely,
Do make sure it is 2.4 and not 27 Mhz and you want a Smoker with Sound, everything else is easy to change as you get more familier with your Tank.

Will there are a number of ways to alter the electrics,
You can use either HENG LONGS or TAIGENS in house control boards both in 2.4 but they restrict you to one radio per Tank and in general they are quite limited but if your pocket book is restricted then they would be the way to go.
Then there are two very different control boards 1/ CLARK, A very good board which has the advantage of fitting snugly into the HENG LONG RX18 boards holder (PULL OUT THE RX18 and put in the CLARK) and just transfer the plugs in the RX18 into the CLARK board and while there is a little more to it than that you would soon be driving a Tank with better sound and vastly improved abilities,
Then there is 2/ The IBU2 or IBU2PRO slightly bigger than the CLARK board but a much more expandable board, again you swap the plugs from the RX18 to the IBU2 and again there is a little more to do but it is light years ahead of either the HENG LONG or the TAIGEN boards, the true downside to the CLARK and the IBU2 is price, not only are the boards more expensive (About £100 to £160 ) but you would also have to buy a Transmitter/Receiver as well as the boards but that is one of the advantages,
My SPECTRUM controls 2 Tigers and 3 aircraft and you cannot do that with a HENG LONG or TAIGEN radio.
Have a good look at the Forum and you will quickly see the pros and cons of all the systems I have highlighted.
