at least 1000 square foot i'd say with the ground being sand to avoid damage to tracks. it would also need to be covered by a tarpulin when not in use to prevent kitties going poo poo in it.

quite a few buildings, bridges and forest/woods area for tanks to hide in.

also shhhh but i have been thinking about getting land and making a battlefield near me but need to find out if the person i know will rent me the bit of land though i have no idea how much it'd cost per month so it'd need to be "fairly" active for me to feel its worth the time and money setting things up, as just getting the base sand/covering would be at least £200+

Unfortunately all this cost's money, the guys in the US are getting free land on military basses and public sights this is land which would never get used otherwise so is no loss to the owners now try approaching your local council and ask them if you can do the same with old factory's or mills and to start with they are going to want £10 grand council tax plus rent plus plus plus at the end of the day it will never happen if you happen to own some land great I don't and the farmer I know who has a corner that could be used was having a giraffe rubbing his hands together when I mentioned it

hey Rob, so we should try to make this reality near where you are as your in the centre and you said their is land!

we would need to make a small wall around he battle feild, then fill it with chippings of gravvel, the a covered in either sand or dirst (dirst easy to carve hills and terrain ect.) ;D ;D

boy im excited now!!!

thanks,

Matt

p.s. we should have a really shallow river through the middle like the one in danville and have bridges over it!!

you dont want any gravel/small stones on it because they can make the tracks break/stall the motors.

Also sand is best because when wet it wont get very messy but mud would

Just a suggestion guys. My son and I were in a local Buggy Club (1/10th etc) and although they had their own outdoor venue for racing, they were looking for a suitable indoor venue, and prices being quoted were ridiculous. Eventually they found an old industrial unit that was up for rent, approached the owners ( a major pharmaceutical company) and when they explained what they wanted it for were given the place for a peppercorn rent. This was on the understanding that if a potential buyer wanted the building, they would have to move out.
They then worried about the council tax etc, and when they approached the council and once again explained the intended use, they agreed it would be beneficial for the youngsters, etc, and again charged a peppercorn amount...amazing!!
This was several years ago, and they are STILL using the building!! :o
Just a thought, why not look at buildings with a decent floor area that's not being used, and with our iffy weather it could be an all year round location.
OR, why not approach the r/c buggy clubs etc, and ask if we could use their facilities. The humps and bumps would be ideal for the tanks, and they would act as a bit of alternative action between the racing???? 8)
Too much month left at the end of the money!!

We have a outdoor area thats been built for off road buggies it held european championships a few years ago I Belive the land belongs to the council because its right next to a park.will ask them at club if it may be posible to use. its got a grandstand that contestants have to be in when operating there cars can only say no cant they.
