Greetings, Men. I think there are guys on this forum that already know me, and for those that don’t, I’m Gary. I’m brand new to this forum but I’m coming to the end of my third year in RC tanks and I’ve been a static modeler for more than 45 years. Not to brag or anything, but I’ve had work displayed in museums. In static models I kind of specialize in WWII fighter aircraft in 1/32 and 1/24 scale. Years ago I was into model railroads and had a large and extensive basement layout.

For the last couple years I’ve been hangin’ out at the tank forum on RCU but, as Prince Vlad said, “That relationship was not entirely successful”. I’ve read a bunch of threads here and it seems some pretty skilled guys hang out here so maybe I can learn a thing or two and maybe even share a bit of knowledge along the way. The first thread I read here was the one on the bucket, and I thought it was pretty cool. Quite a few of my tanks have a bucket or a coil of rope, two of the most handy items a soldier can have.

I’m just getting into FPV and hobby grade boards, and I have some pretty cool projects under way as well as on the way. I mainly focus on airsoft, but I like a lot of aspects about the hobby, like building an entire little village in the wooded area behind my house. I have a YouTube channel and I love taking photos and videos of the tanks and accessories. I’ve got 8 figure kits lined up for winter building, and I just picked up the three man Verlinden resin tank crew and two figures are on the way from asiatam, along with an Opel Blitz.

I'm located in Detroit, where the weak are killed and eaten. :haha:

One of the things I really like about this hobby is helping out my fellow tankers, especially the new guys like myself, so I'm always available if there's anything I can do to help keep these tanks rollin'. I try to do all I can to expand and promote the hobby and I'm really passionate about RC Tanks. I always do my best to remain courteous and respectful, and I very much appreciate being treated the same way in return. Mouthy and disrespectful people are very difficult for me to tolerate, so I do my utmost not to act like the Gomers I detest.

Here’s just a couple photos of my village, just to give you an idea of where I’m at.

Not sure if those will post, I'm still learning how to post photos and videos here. I've read some of the stuff in FAQ but I still have some more reading to do, unless someone wants to make it easy on me and explain posting pics and vids in a language a dumb old hippie can understand. :)

So I'm glad to be here and looking forward to getting to know some of you guys and maybe making my tanks better as a results.

Welcome Gary - envious of your 'village out the back'!

Photos and pictures can be posted via photobucket, I'll check the links you need for best showing them.

You can also now use tapatalk for phones and tablets which means no need for photo hosting sites.

Enjoy your stay :)

Gary welcome to this Forum.
The Bucket thread can be lain at the feet of our Hawaiian correspondent, ALPHA, because I know my place I call him Colonel, :{
The military rank one receives in this place comes without any rewards by the way :/
I am of course familier with your work as is Tom and other members of this particular asylum,
Your point on ill manners is well made and usually we self regulate but their is a disciplinary system ever watchful. >:<
BUT our Antipodian members seem to have a slightly more raw grasp of this language, PLUS CA CHANGE, :haha: :haha:
I am looking forward to your videos and comments, enjoy it here we do.

Hey Guys, thanks for the warm welcome and kind words. I'm still figuring stuff out for this site, but I'm starting to feel right at home. I see a lot of screen names I know here and that's great. Right now I'm uploading the new videos from today's FPV testing, but I'm not sure exactly where to post it. Show off? Tips and tricks? If it's all the same to you guys I'd kind of prefer just to post all my stuff in General Discussions. That would make it a lot easier for the Hippie brain to cope with, but if it's not cool I'll try to find the right place for each project. I think a lot of guys will like this FPV system, it's easy, it's cheap (relatively speaking) and it's so much fun I can't believe it. I drove all the way around my tank trail while sitting on my butt in a lawn chair, and the Mobius took video for the whole thing! Sometimes this hobby makes me feel just like a little kid again, just discovering new things. :)

Glad to see ya on a forum again Gary! All my pics and stuff I have been posting in the Show Off forum. A lot of your squad vids will probably work well in the Tips & Tricks forum I would think. But some may do better in others.
