IMEX STRIKES AGAIN!

Post by jackalope »

UGH! This is getting old! So a while back I had problems getting the correct gearboxes from IMEX and they finally just gave up and refunded my money and pulled them all off their web page cause they were ALL listed wrong!

So I figured what the hell I'll try em again so I ordered a set of late Tiger drive sprockets, idler wheels, road wheels and tracks and they came the other day within a week! Today I opened them up to test fit things and the first bag I opened with the drive sprockets and idler wheels contained 2 inner and 2 outer idler wheel parts and their axles and 1 outer drive sprocket and 3 inners and 2 center caps. :wtf: Ummmmmm.... :wtf: How do I work with 1 outer and 3 inners? :wtf:

Just emailed them to see what they're going to do to fix this. If they just send me the 1 missing outer I'm cool with that, in fact the sprockets themselves look to be the same as the early ones its just the center caps that are different so I'll use the 1 outer part I have in my spare parts box and wait for them to send me the missing part.

Not sure if I will order from them again, I mean the 2 orders I place with them they mess them both up. I'm sure they'll fix this screw up like they did the gearboxes but geeeeez 2 for 2? That's not good.

Hey Jackalope, new guy here (I'll be posting my intro later), and I wanted to let you know that the best way to get good results from Imex is to talk to Erik Edwards. He works 9 to 6 mon-fri and all you have to do is call 1-800-458-5785 or 352-754-8522 and ask for Erik. You can tell him Gary sent you if you want, and tell him you're on RCtankwarfare. He's an avid tanker himself with more than 30 tanks (the lucky dog) and he's about the best customer service guy I've ever seen. When he hears this is the second time you've had trouble he might even throw in a goodie or two just to make sure he leaves you happy. Give him a try and please keep us posted.

EDIT:, Also, I have a new Jagdtiger on the way from Imex and I'll be doing a box opening video. Now I have to figure out exactly where I should post that kind of thing here. I'm brand new to RCTW and I'm still feeling my way around. You can look for my intro post later today on the appropriate page.

Gary, thanks for the contact info even better that he's into R/C tanks too as he'll know what I'm talking about without having to look at pics. I'll give him a call tomorrow and see what he can do to help me out. I'd like to buy more from them as they're close to me but they really need to get it together with their quality control, 2 for 2 on messing up doesn't inspire confidence.

As to your Jagdetiger I was unaware that IMEX sold them, this is good news as I wasn't going to pay $300+ to ship a Jagdetiger to the states. I may be getting one after all!

I just looked and didn't see any Jagdetiger on the IMEX site.

The Jagdtiger is brand new and in the preorder stage right now, should be shipping this week. Because I know Erik and I have a close relationship with Imex they're shipping the very first Jagdtiger to me. It's already paid for so now I just wait for the container to arrive at Imex, for Erik to personally check my tank and get it on the truck. This was pretty special to me, and from the Imex side it's kind of a thank you for my being such a loyal and supportive customer for the last three years. Erik and I met through business, but have become friends and I speak to him regularly. I'm trying to convince him to become more active on this forum, because having a well placed contact in a major distributor as a forum member and fellow tanker can only be good for all of us, don't you think?

The JT is a bit pricey at $559.00 US (that's a special introductory price being offered to RCU members but I'm pretty sure we can get Imex to extend that to RCTW as well), but this is my very favorite tank and I've waited a very long time for one to become available in the correct size (the previous 1/16 JTs were built on the KT chassis, which is too short). This will be the jewel of my collection and I ordered it with a plain paint job as I plan to paint it myself, and I've already ordered an IBU2 for it and I have a couple of different radios to put it on when it gets here. Right now I'm leaning towards the i6, but I can also piggyback it onto the 9X or the 9XR Pro but I really want this tank to have it's own dedicated TX so if I can fab a selfcentering lever for the left stick the i6 is the most likely option. I already made a self center lever for the 6S so I'm pretty sure I can make one for the i6, but I won't know for sure till I get the radio opened up and have a peek inside.

I've posted my intro on the "introduce yourself" page so if you're interested you can learn a bit more about me there. I'm very happy to be here and I hope I can make a valuable contribution to this forum and it's members.

Jack,
Good morning. As this fellow says, Erik is a great guy who will go to great lengths to keep customers happy with Taigen and IMEX in general. He resolved an Amazon 'wrong image displayed on the page' related issue for me when I had received the plastic version of the Pz III while ordering a metal version tank for the current StuG build. Erik resolved the issue by shipping me all of the metal parts to make up the correct version of the tank! Good luck, my friend. I think that IMEX will get you going again.
regards,
Painless

Hi Jack, I've placed at least 15 orders with IMEX and I've never had a problem. As Gary says, give Erik a call. Introduce yourself and start a tank relationship with him. He will definitely take care of you.

Talked to Erik a couple hours ago and told him what I received in my order and he's sending me out the missing outer drive sprocket. He also added that if I ever want to order from them to call him directly and he'll take care of me! AWESOME!

Also should I want a Jagdtiger all I have to do is call him and he'll get me one! Minus the $300.00 shipping charge from Germany!
