Hello - I want a King Tiger! :o)

Post by Muscleflex »

Hello - I'm not really into tanks!
My brother is! He's crazy into tanks and around 10 years ago, he bought a Tamiya Full Options Kit Tiger I. It took him till last year to complete it - and he detailed it lots!
But his radio stopped working so I offered to test it out for him being an RC nut that I am.

I managed to get it running. Video is here:

Problem now is, I want my own! So I'm looking for a King Tiger! My brother promised to help paint it for me... but I told him I'll get a King Tiger and we can swap and I'll keep his Tiger instead.

So.... anyone got one? :)

I have some questions regarding his Tiger as well that I will be posting soon on this site!

10 years to finish??????????????????? :O Someone has to Call Guiness...that has to be some kind of record :haha:
With that said....Sorry don't have a King Tiger laying around...though if I did...I'm not sure I would want to encourage this kind of behavior :haha:
Just kidding Muscle .....You should try checking EBAY....lots of second hand KTs pop up now and then...or you might want to look into RTRs made by Torro or Taigen....Heng Long makes a Nice one too...but not as much metal on it as the latter ;)

PS...Here's an EBAY example...couldn't find the Taigen on the UK site though sorry bout that

Took longer to build then the war was going on!

Do you want a built one to re-do or a full on kit?

Hah! Well what happened was, he started to build it but he didn't have a radio so I think I found him a radio. But he decided to mould his own wheels or something (I remember him showing me moulds of the wheels)... then he moved house.... and other projects got in the way...
It was only last year when I kept pestering him about the tank that he decided to finish painting it. But he did admit he got carried away and overdid the details on it.

Now it's too fragile to be played with. He even painted and detailed the tracks so when I first started it up, flakes of paint and whatnot came off it onto my wife's dining table! (guess who got in trouble for that! :P )

Oh - just to let you all know, I won that ebay auction for that king tiger! :)
My brother will repaint it...
But I prefer this Tiger F01 of his so I said we'll do a swap and I get to keep this one!

I have questions about the Tiger actually... first and mainly of the turret. It's a bit too loose..
I'll start another thread and photo on it maybe this weekend.
I have packed the Tiger away now as it was occupying my wife's dining table.
