Shops in UK

Post by DNAR »

Mods, I don't know if this is the right place for this. Feel free to transfer this to appropriate thread.
I'm new to RC tanks. Trying my best to self educate on this. I was just wondering if guys here from the UK can point me to the right direction. Where can I find a trust worthy shops or eBay seller in the UK. I've been reading the vendor post and its really helpful but I could not read all of them. I would like to get my hands on Heng Long modern tanks. Thanks in advance chaps.

I know you want UK but there's some great retailers in Germany like rctank.de, afv-model and axels-modellbau. Shipping is the same to the UK as within the UK as they mostly all use DPD. It's only once you shop outside the EU you'll get hit by duties.

Thanks for the input billpe. Very minimal experience ordering outside UK, mainly small items for model kits. Never attempted bigger items. I have seen a lot of good offers but was wondering if customs taxes will get the best of me here. What are your advice on this?

If the country Is a member of the EU then you have no extra charges to pay, the only difference is in the amount of postage but that will not be very different from UK postal charges. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

EU free trade zone. Buying in any EU country to EU country you won't pay taxes. Well, that is until some idiots try and vote us out :(

I order kits from Germany as the Euro is weak at the moment making my pounds go further.

A Full Option Sherman can be had for £350 delivered.

I can only add that RCTank.de are top notch and excellent value for money, they supply tanks pre built to pretty much any spec, and you couldn't buy the parts and build them yourself for anything near those prices. Don't worry about the German bit, the website is English, and dealing with them is a breeze.

If you are after a modern tank, they do a top spec Leopard for a bargain price at the moment.

Axels, Seidel and Tamico and German sites and good value.
