I concentrated on getting the trunnion mount lined up through the gunport and the main body of the recoil and elevation unit mounted. The underside of the StuG casemate roof is not flat, being concave. I noted that the unit mount in the Panzer III turret had an extra piece that lifted the whole unit up 1/2 inch or so and I took that into consideration. After a little thought, I removed the 'legs' piece and used thick doublestick tape and glue to make a mount that would fit 'into' the casemate, not just flat against it. I used 5 strips in varying widths to build a stepped tape mount about 1/2 high. Using the trunnion mount on the elevation arm to give me distance from the gun port, I lined the whole thing up and glued it into place. It works. Now I have to modify the gun mount arm and attach it to the resin mantlet after I mount the trunnion to the casemate wall around the gunport. I know how, I just have to get the time and some small 'U' bolts to do so. Pictures:
